Session 1 began with the brief introduction of the town of Gramsby. Gramsby is a small college town surrounded on the north, east, and west by massive mountains and is home to two schools; Gramsby Community College and Winsworth Institute for Aspiring Adventurers. We were then introduced to the Brekkis's family, who were bustling around taking care of patrons at the Rosewood Hotel where they work. Brekkis nearly got into a fight with a teifling wearing the Winsworth school uniform and quickly headed off to school. Next, we were introduced to Atreus, who was just arriving by train from Stone City (The Capitol of Eldhen) who had just met an Aasimar, Nigel Flemmington, who was a first year student at WIAA. After parting ways with Nigel, Atreus chased off two bullys and befriended a goblin, Dyzz Byren, before heading to his first day of school. We then met the Riddlechip family, who pulled up to the quaint school in a limousine accompanied by a small security force. Chort's father tried to give her a quick pep talk, but left in a hurry to prepare for his upcoming court case. Finally, we met Kyrut and Rakesh, who both were already moved into the Beholder House Dormitory. Kyrut received mysterious message from a member of his hacker cohort and Rakesh is promised to be taught how to do a kegstand.

The 6 players, and Dyzz, arrive in front of the school and listen to Dean Rumbleton give a start of semester speech. After the speech, they were divided into groups of 6 and brought 1 of many towering black cubes for placement testing. The players quickly defeated the hologram of a dragon, before being attacked by ghouls that were hiding inside the hologram. Upon defeating the enemies, the group headed out of their cube to see havoc on the school grounds as students and teachers alike were battling hordes of ghouls that seem to have been waiting in the cubes.
